NABET-CWA/ABC-Disney NEGOTIATIONS

 B U L L E T I N

Los Angeles, CA

BULLETIN #24
September 20, 2011

Your Union Bargaining Committee met with ABC representatives on September 17, 19, and 20 for the continuation of bargaining for a successor to the expired 2007-2011 NABET-CWA / ABC, Inc. Master Agreement.

The Union entered these discussions once again ready to focus on the issues which still remain unresolved between the parties. The primary goal of the committee is to reach an overall agreement that would result in a fair contract settlement which would serve the membership, as well as address the changes currently facing the broadcasting industry.

The discussions this week have been spirited and frank, and the open issues are challenging. We are hopeful that the talks we have had so far this week, including proposals concerning digital cameras, pension, meal periods, Daily Hires, and wages have focused Company negotiators on the issues important to you, the employees of ABC and that they are prepared to negotiate an offer worthy of your consideration, and one that we can recommend.

NABET-CWA and ABC, Inc. negotiators are scheduled to resume talks tomorrow.

More information on the current status of these negotiations will be provided during the next few days to all NABET-CWA members working at ABC.

In the meantime, the Union Bargaining Committee urges each and every ABC member to continue assisting in efforts to achieve a fair contract, including participating in current mobilization activities, and attending upcoming membership meetings. Official negotiation and mobilization information are available on the Sector website (www.nabetcwa.org), on Local websites, hotlines, and e-mail lists.
